You added randomly yourself. He needed some victory. In Russia even foreign policy is the internal policy. First Grozny then Georgia then Crimea and now the rest of Ukraine. But this time it didn't work out so well

Their demographics are shrinking so stealing children was an added bonus

I feel sorry that you are so uninformed. Go back, if you can, and learn about the history - then we can have a constructive conversation.

BTW, if taking kids OUT of a conflict zone warrents an ICJ warrant for arrest, then killing 40 000 children is what?
