I have a certain hate for electric cars. They are so quiet, I sometimes can not hear them as they masquerade behind the ambient noise. Almost just got rolled over by one.

this is also why hermetically sealed, quiet car interiors is a bad thing, double bad with the silent electric motor
personally when i hear the characteristic whirring hum of electric motors i get nervous
i think that it is very likely that soon there will be some kind of public outrage about EVs being so much more prone to causing road accidents that they may have to actually do something, what, i dunno... external airbags? speed limits? noisemakers?
I really hope that happens.
Not everyone respects these pedestrian road crossings and just drives right through anyway. Pair that with being unable to hear the damn thing and accidents are bound to happen...
