Real problem for sure. Goes both ways, exploitation for one side and then a cultural mindset that keep them in that place, foster by politics....and sadly politics are a reflection of the people.
Living here in the US, born and raise in LATAM, and now seen that when that nationalism spirit rise, the desire for fair and righteous towards "third world countries " mostly, vanish for citizens.

I am super happy to see the exceptions, which there are few, that leave that dependency mindset and go on actually building a powerhouse themselves.
We need in general, all, no exception, to be more empathetic towards one another.
