I added a green ① badge to followed users with a tooltip "following". I'll add ② to 2nd degree followed with tooltip indicating how many of your friends are following the user.

Cool idea. It would be nice to have editable filters to see more or fewer degrees of separation. It might be a really nice way to discover more content.
Added the ② badge now as well. It's green if they're followed by more than 10 friends, otherwise yellow.
