With very few exceptions yes, being a salaried employee is better financially than being a Bitcoin evangelist... But that doesn't mean you would have been "better off"
Remind yourself why you do what you do at your core. Do what feels most rewarding. But obviously everybody's got to pay the bills, so there is a floor here. I'd quit my fiat job if I could, but, realistically, my paycheck supports 5 people.
