No wonder skilled workers leave South Africa for greener pastures in terms of money.

Paramedics go to Dubai and Abu Dhabi - SA salary around $2000 here and $10 000 there..

CAs and Legal people go work for the big firms overseas on fancy visas and earn bombs and come back with fiat and either smart and live of investments or buy property and live off the income (old way I know)

Whereas sales people - genuinely have no chance unless you have extremely good connections or you have a EU passport and can leave..

South Africa has opportunities don’t get me wrong but the barriers are becoming ridiculous!

Here are a few..

1. You cannot work with government unless you are 51% black owned

2. Getting finance is almost impossible as they wanna screw you on interest rates (no margin left)

3. Everyone is in a race to the bottom because money is worthless so people will do it for less to get money and buy things that hold more value..

4. Hiring staff in South Africa is a joke - people get hired on skin color and not merit..

Aparteid was horrible yes I agree but 30 plus years and it’s gotten worse.. majority of people are worse off!

5. The whole EWC (land grab) is such bullshit.. it’s not explained correctly. The 1% of extreme black people think they just gonna get given everything for free.. it’s definitely not gonna work like that.. as per usual the normal “clan” will benefit and the rest of them will get fucked.

6. People have lost the ability to stick to their words. I leant a buddy $4000 2 weeks ago.. he has paid back $3000 but the balance is accruing interest daily.. just don’t get it.. rather say it’s a risk but you’ll get a decent rate if I manage to sort my cashflow in order.

Anyways.. just not in a good frame of mind right now!
