You are going to run into that on any platform. The ratio of independently thinking people is highest on nostr in my opinion, but that likely changes as the volume of users goes up.

I think you're right, that nostr has more thinkers than other platforms. I was also an early adopter of Facebook, and an early-ish leaver. Would've been the same on Twitter but they censored me really early and did it every time I tried. Social media might just be a dead concept. In the long run just a passing phase for young people. I don't think society has fully digested it yet, but after another decade or so I'd bet that's how it stabilizes in society.
