This is my private playlist of holiday songs - most of them were what my mom played on vinyl records during Christmas when we were growing up, and most of those were music that HER parents enjoyed when she was a kid (Selections from Handel's Messiah & Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, Perry Como, Gene Autry, The Mills Brothers, The Boston Pops Christmas with Arthur Fiedler, The Carpenters Christmas, Brenda Lee, Andy Williams & The Williams Brothers & more). I now own all these albums, but the digital playlist was created years ago and shared online by different other folks who generously ripped the vinyl or found some other way to share them and I'm always grateful to hear them and evoke the memories of times past.
