If anyone wants to test nip-03 (opentimestamps) i have an experiment that I’m running over here, each note has an ots proof (kind 1040) that stamps each note id into bitcoin.

This is done in the most efficient way possible to not be spammy. The way ots works is via calendar servers take many stamp requests and arranges them in a merkle tree. This allows you to combine many stamps, potentially millions or more, into a single OP_RETURN output which doesn’t bloat the utxo set.

This allows you to attest that some piece of data existed at some point in time, something you can’t really do on nostr since anyone can fake timestamps.

In my usecase it’s kind of a novelty, but also doesn’t allow me to cheat or lie. Maybe this is useful on other contexts, so throwing this out there. nostr:note1c6pnvs02tqr6v7kfwxtfkxkyjnxx0wt8gl8jrqlukj0g0w995plscfw3la

I was looking at implementing NIP-03 before. Did you need someone to test your experiment?

Sure!

Let me know what you need.

this is really cool

if i needed it id use it

but im banking the other way atm

the last thing i need is a timestamp that cant be faked
