Each day, in the shallow waters off Melenara Beach on the Spanish island of Gran Canaria, Neptune rises from the sea. This stunning statue, created in 2001 by Luis Arencibia Betancort, stands nearly 15 feet tall — and when the tide comes in, Neptune appears to be emerging from his watery kingdom.
