Rather than a hard and fast weight limit on luggage on a commercial flight, it should be combined with the passenger’s weight and given and cumulative total. Let’s say it’s 250 lbs total. If I’m 150 lbs and my luggage is 75 lbs, boom, no surcharge. But if I’m 240 lbs and my luggage is 20 lbs then I’m paying a ten pound fat charge.
