Ekiti State Court Hands Down Four-Year Sentence for Cable Theft

The Ekiti State Chief Magistrate Court has sentenced Ugar Ebenezer to four years in prison for stealing electric cables worth N1.4 million. The court also ordered restitution of N1 million to the victim, Daramola Olubunmi. The theft occurred on August 18, 2022, and Ebenezer was charged under sections 322 and 302 (1)(a) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021. The court found him guilty on both counts and sentenced him to one year for the first count and three years for the second count, to be served concurrently.
