The people who never left mainstream social media are a weird bunch, like creatures that have evolved to survive in a very particular and unhealthy environment, like deep sea fish who've lost all their bones. They seem completely unfazed by ugly, cluttered UIs or aggressively invasive algos and they've adapted their way of thinking to thrive in a climate of arbitrary censorship. As I've mentioned previously, Facebook banned me before I could even finish the sign-up process because I was using a VPN. Some of us are just not made for big tech. Thank God.
