We’re discussing notifications on #damus.

One idea is to set a minimum zap amount in settings. If zap amount is met or exceeded a notification is sent.

This is a customizable value.

How does this sound to you?

It's not the zaps it's the comments train of notifications that destroy the Nostr experience

I mistyped.

If zap amount is not met, then no notification is sent.

No. Zap notifications are great!

It's the bot tagging 400 people to tell everyone that they zapped them and the ensuing comments that destroy notifications

Even the trading I don't think it's terrible. It's the notifications for the comments you aren't tagged in directly, but since the original post tags you, you get them anyway.

what ruins things for me is fcking animated gifs...

i hate them *so* very much.

try this client : more-speech

no notifications.. in fact its rather confusing but notifications it does not provide... its on the desktop, its not a phone thing.
