I don't like this.

If you're going to play a part, stay in that character. Nobody wants to know the actor playing the role, but that has to be your sacrifice to make the character come alive.

If you're going to be real, be real. You can hide parts of yourself as you choose, but the ones you put forth, let those be real.

This dithering between your fantasy and reality is just not doing justice to either the character or the real you.

Sorry, my opinion. I'll piss off now. For what it's worth, I choose curated reality.
