NEW FROM THE INSIDER EDITION: SPHINCS+ was introduced as a proposal to add a post-quantum signature scheme to bitcoin.
There's rough consensus, that at some point, we'll need to transition to post-quantum signatures. SPHINCS+ is a promising path forward.

You're saying large signature sizes would make it into a pyramid scheme, since effective block size would be greatly reduced? Have you looked into ZKP signature aggregation? https://eprint.iacr.org/2021/1048
no the pyramid scheme is a reference to the hypertree structure that SPHINCS+ uses to embed lots of signatures under a single pubkey
