Here's where they're confused:

- Unwarranted romanticism of the State from love of the American story and for study of the political and philosophical greats of history (mainly, greek times).

- A desire to reform the State, to solve society's problems centrally, instead of unwinding the State itself. The thinking mistake that the errors of statism can only be rectified by more statism. I.e. the exaggerations of liberalism can only be reigned in with a newly empowered state.

- Neglect of the subject of money, money printing, central banking, and technological ludditism in the face of #Bitcoin. Hand waving the usury of fiat with "muh gold standard".
