I've heard that only the last 4-digits are "unique-ish"... They don't even send 4 digit 2FA codes any more... I've made a spreadsheet formula that can drag down to make 10,000 10-digit phones numbers... It's just a sequential list... It's insane that we even use it for anything remotely identifying!

SSN’s were originally forbidden to be used as ID numbers, but government couldn’t resist the temptation.
