Did the supermarket accept XMR or did you have to use a roundabout way? If so, could you explain?
SPAR accept Monero indrectly through OpenCryptoPay, a service of DFX.swiss, which is integrated in Cake Wallet.
The cashier says the price, you scan the static QR code at the checkout with your Cake Wallet, and swipe to send. The payment is instantaneous. DFX facilitates this by accepting Monero and paying SPAR in Frankencoin, the Swiss stablecoin, which is pegged to fiat currency.
