But you are more than your biological machinery.

Are you cosmic energy moving through time and space, as some say? Are you your ideas and interactions? Maybe.

The philosopher Pierre Teilhard de Chardin suggested we are spiritual beings, just here temporarily, testing ourselves against reality.

The Dad perspective: It doesn't really matter what your consciousness is made of, it matters what it does.

Who you are is defined by how you treat the waiter. Who you are is defined by whether you keep your promises when nobody is watching. You are the consciousness that chooses honor over ease, and duty over apathy.

Build that person. That’s the only part of you that lasts.
