NERD FLARE: is there any way I can use a modern browser, but HEAVILY throttle its processing? I mean, even down to a 486 level throttle.

Throttling only JS is absolutely acceptable, other page rendering is welcome to run as fast as it likes. Or throttling the whole thing.
