Say if global surveillance stopped, and led to world war 3; would we want to revert back to mass surveillance because it’s a lesser evil to live with? Is that how the NSA/CIA etc operate? That privacy is a trade off for peace? That privacy has to be sacrificed (in the mean time) in order to one-up and out-smart non-democracy adversarial countries (insofar as dictatorship countries still operate eg Cold-War Russia, Communist China, North Korea etc)?
