Coinjoin like Samourai Whirlpool introduce uncertainty as to who owns what (greater the # of mixes complete). According to this, swapping in and out of L-BTC there is 0 relationship between the BTC deposited and the L-BTC. Does that mean swapping in and out gives even greater privacy than on-chain mixing?

I think Liquid is rather interesting from many perspectives - transaction speed, confidentiality, fees etc. Why does there seem to be such hesitation to use it - even distrust or venom from some? As a federation you do have counterparty risk - so too with Fedimint and somehow it seems ok here where there will likely be much less operational knowledge supporting the mint...
