This is a Damus super power. Definitely use it. Spam almost becomes invisible.

Yes you can see their notes, but you are not annoyed by them. nostr:note14dyyplavd999a7y7kunm6v57rl7reyhvaerscjpzmvu5dnamsnkq78hlu7

I could hug you ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿซ‚ thank you ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ ah man, it was so annoying. I couldnโ€™t keep up with my notifications. Love Damus ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

Then you miss notifications from potential new frens though. I just removed all relays that werenโ€™t blocking the spam notes.

I took your advice. Paid a lot of sats for this setup. ๐Ÿ˜ž if I see one spam you owe me ๐Ÿคฃ

Bruh youโ€™ve been using Nostr this whole time without nostr.wine? ๐Ÿ˜‚

Yes. ๐Ÿ˜…

You have just leveled up ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿš€

Some spam notes are still making it through, but I am not sure where from. Is there a way to know which relays are those events coming from? Im guessing itโ€™s the Damus relay since itโ€™s the only free one?

Damus is a public relay, spammers can still send notes 6 times every minute. If you *never* want to see spam the best option is likely all paid relays, but that will be a bubble.

Ive talked about an option before where you can have a global switch that turns off non-paid relays across the entire UI, lots of things we can still do. Hardest thing is to make it intuitive for users.

Yeah, it gets to a point where it stops making sense. Like if Iโ€™m only on paid relays, the people i follow may not be. Iโ€™ll start blocking my self from seeing the people I follow.

I think a global friends/friends of friends (2nd/3rd degree) filter is actually better than a global paid relay filter.

Im not really annoyed of seeing the spam, but Iโ€™m now really curious on what is the most optimal solution.

wss://nostr.wine is a comfy bubble.

You can use nak to check if a note is on a relay. nostr.band relay is also free.
