The myth of accidental muscle:

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard people say they don’t want to lift weights bc they want to avoid getting bulky from too much muscle.

Anyone who lifts knows there is no such thing as “accidental” muscle. Muscle is very expensive for the body to produce. It takes intent including lots of hard work and proper nutrition. It never just happens by accident.

Lol who said that?? That is the most ridiculous thing I've heard regarding lifting thus far. It's like saying 'I want to eat healthy but I don't want a good immune system or look well'

I’ve heard it mostly from people into yoga, running or cycling who are afraid of getting bulky. Also from folks who clearly don’t exercise and use it as an excuse.

I’m still waiting for the day when I do some sets at the gym and wake up the next morning looking like Arnold in his prime 🤞
