How do Communities work? You create them on nostr.kiwi and then what? Will it appear on Amethyst's community tab aswell?
Will the posts that you make in that community appear in every followers feed just as usual? So my question is: are communities rather a place to gather posts with a certain #hashtag?
Great question. This is my first time trying to use them. I created it on Nostr.kiwi and I can post chats there but I can see how to pin/curate things or how to help others join.

Maybe this is just me misunderstanding how communities function under the hood.
The chat in nostr.kiwi āĀ is that just group public chat? Are the posts in satellite.earth different?
And only some of it shows up in the moderation queue?
āChatā in kiwi is kind 42, for channel chats. Yes, āgroup public chat.
So it wonāt show up in any moderation queue.
To āshow upā in moderation queue is classic kind 1 note, with āaā tag pointing to a community ID.
Hope that clear things up.
I also added a cool feature where you can repost into communities. So you can repost the note you sent earlier into that community.

Ah ok ā there seems to be a lag of sorts in kiwi before posts start showing. The "Approve" tab showed up but was empty and then just now nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z 's post mentioning the community finally showed in the approval queue.
Ah. That could be it. Because I added 5 mins stale time before fetching. As I thought that could be ānot too longā, to optimise power consumption (when pulling new notes for approval), thinking that no moderators there waiting to approve notes live, and itās ok for theses notes to be in limbo for 5 mins.
It will appear at other client community
Not about hashtag, community will only show the post approved by moderator.
But even it is not approved it will still show up at your followerās timeline because it is a kind 1 event.
