I met him a few times at the Bitcoin Center in NYC and at the premiere of the documentary The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin. He was answering audience questions after the film with his ankle bracelet on. Really nice guy who got in over his head.
Yeah, I don't feel like he is a grifter like most altcoin folks. He ran a business that helped a lot of people stack early on, went to prison, and when he got out #Bitcoin had moved on without him. I think he was just trying to get back in and altcoiners will welcome anyone with own arms.
