If you timelock a UTXO / transaction for a kid 18 years in the future what approach would you take to ensure:

1. The required information isn’t lost / forgotten over those 18 years

2. It remains secure and can’t be swept by anyone else obtaining the details

3. The specific tech used doesn’t become obsolete potentially rendering it inaccessible

When the 'kid' is old enough, the responsibility lies with them.

Teach them the secret words and how to keep them safe and private.

Show them the tools to use it and why and how it's timelocked.

And with a bit of luck, they'll value that dangling carrot.

I probably should’ve said baby instead… so teaching words might be a bit of a challenge for a while

I guess it’s a case of only setting it up once that responsibility can be passed on
