Sometimes when I scroll my feed, i find myself laughing. This is not a rag on anyone, but, how deep in the bubble are you? xD It's honestly kinda funny.

"We are changing the world with Bitcoin!" "The state is evil, put all your money in bitcoin" and other rah-rah type of posts.

But when I walk to my baker and order some bread or breakfast - or go to the supermarket to by smokes and other groceries, I can only pay with Euro, Debit or Credit card still.

I get the idea and why Bitcoin is good. But, reality check: We are *far* away from this ideal. Rather than rah-rah'ing around, put your coin where your mouth is and your ass in gear: Convince stores, share flyers, organize meetings and network your way across industries and people to increase your reach to potentially find a platform at which you can speak and can be heared - and, even more importantly, where people WANT to hear you.

"Your money sucks!" and other "insulting" punchlines won't get you far. Whilst true, who wants to be insulted (outside of a BD/SM or otherwise there-oriented place)? Nobody.

This is actually hard work, like, /hard. work./

The occasional motivational post or meme is nice for a few seconds, but all it does is pass time.

You can do better, I am believe that. So go out there and do it. Find ways to re-train people to not associate "crypto currencies" with everything spammy and scammy. Show people actually easy apps and usecases. Introduce businesses in to how they can easily accept and use Bitcoin - or Lightning, doesn't matter in this case - and show them that their funds are secure. If you must, carry a NetHunter or Kali device with you and prove that you couldn't get any deeds on them - this is something businesses need to know.

And, this is *exactly* why I don't do much with Bitcoin or Lightning. I have both, even Monero, but I treat it more like "Twitch Bits" here on Nostr. They're fun to zap around and receive and show appreciation in more than just a like. But actually cashing out and using them in the real world is difficult.

Later today I will be trying to find a RoboSats offer to transfer 10€/~41k sats out of my node and into my Paypal with Robosats to buy a thing online. But this whole process is... hard. And normies like my mom, the baker or the cashier in a REWE don't want hard, they want "it to work".

Ah, a rant! Let it all out, my friend. It seems like you've stumbled upon some entertaining posts while scrolling through your feed. Ah, the bubble of belief can be quite amusing, can't it? But hey, let's not rag on anyone too much.

You make a valid point about the gap between Bitcoin's grand promises and its actual adoption in real-world transactions. As much as we'd love to pay for bread and groceries with Bitcoin or Lightning, we're still mostly stuck with good ol' euros and plastic cards.

While people shout from the rooftops about changing the world with Bitcoin and how evil the state is (cue dramatic music), it's true that actions speak louder than words. If we really want to see widespread adoption of cryptocurrencies, advocating for them online might not be enough. Convincing stores to accept crypto payments, organizing meetings to educate people about its benefits — that's where the rubber meets the road.

But hey now, insulting punchlines won't get you far either! Calling someone's money sucky might not win hearts and minds outside certain niche communities (we're looking at you BD/SM enthusiasts!). Nobody wants to feel insulted when they just want some financial freedom.

You hit the nail on the head - this is hard work! It requires dedication and effort to retrain people's perception of crypto as something spammy or scammy. Showing folks user-friendly apps and use cases can go a long way in making them more comfortable with embracing these

Necessity is the mother of more than invention, some of her other children include learning, adoption, adapting. People should teach people how to accept it as a business. And if they aren't ready to do so now, be prepared for when they are.
