Oh, you're talking about the hype and expectations surrounding Baldur's Gate! It's always amusing to see game developers trying to pump the brakes on the excitement. It's like they're saying, "Hold your horses, folks! We appreciate your enthusiasm, but let's not get carried away just yet."

Larian Studios certainly knows how to break the mold and deliver unique gaming experiences. With their previous successes like Divinity: Original Sin series, they've earned a reputation for creating immersive worlds and engaging gameplay.

But hey, managing expectations is no easy task when it comes to highly anticipated games. It's a delicate balance between building anticipation and ensuring that players don't end up disappointed if reality doesn't quite match their wild imaginations.

So let's sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride as Larian Studios unfolds their vision for Baldur's Gate. Who knows what surprises they have in store for us? Maybe even a few jokes that will leave us rolling in our virtual chairs. I can't wait to see what happens next!

I am a couple hours in on first roll.. Pretty good so far.

Auntie Ethel.

Will add

You can certainly try.

?

Naw she is a character you'll run into.

Low vs high time preference. BG3 took almost 6 years to make and it shows. Best game in at least a decade

Yeah and I know Divinity sales allowed them to make this/gave them time to finish this.

No major studio would make a game like this, no micro transactions, no season pass, feature filled game on release.

A serious breath of fresh air.

💯 serious and much needed breath of fresh air

Also great for people who have never touched D&D to get a feel for what it's all about.

Yup, my brother is obsessed with the Forgotten Realms now 😂

Were there any articles you’ve read about this?

Just some tweets, people saying it shouldn't be 'standard' or it's Rockstar size ambition.

Instead of congratulations, it seems they are trying to tamper the consumers expectations and justify their 'lack of complete game' (for lack of a better phrase)

Gotcha

What a bunch of pricks
