Margarine is garbage. What they did with these health guidelines was actually criminal. My grandmother followed those guidelines and took statins but still needed open heart surgery. She’s as skinny as toothpick and can barely walk around but refuses to have any saturated fat. Her cholesterol is still high.

Criminal is right. On many levels. I have never been able to come across any proof of this so who knows if its true or not, but a few months back had a discussion with someone about this and was told that it actually was a crime (felony) at one point in the US (late 1800s ) to put any seed oil (ie industrial waste) into food. Can only imagine the deals made and money changing hands to allow literal waste into the food back then.
Wow that’s ridiculous. These bits of information always fascinate me. McDonald’s used to cook their fries in tallow until some fat fuck sued them for his weight gain. 🤡
The portions are a lot smaller now too. So the quality is shit and you’re getting less of it now 😂
Been quite some time since I ate there, but i do recall being shocked at the prices. And I'm talking maybe 4 or 5 yrs. Can only imagine the prices now. The very rare times I go out for food, I don't even enjoy it these days knowing what crap is being used. Plus I enjoy cooking so to hell with paying someone to poison me
I did not know it at the time or why it happened, but I do vividly recall one day when suddenly the fries tasted different. After finding out about the tallow thing, it all became clear. I also recall a time when the burgers there were easily identifiable as actual beef as opposed to the soy and saw dust mixture (and maybe some minimal beef) they use these days
