a few notes: i didn't actually break anything

i *almost* broke a few things - but Robert Greene teaches that every win must be treated as an L so that you can learn from it and that's how i approach things

whereas a stupid bitch like my mother ACTUALLY breaks things and then simply blames somebody or something or whatever and never spends a second reflecting on what she has done ( typical for all women ) if i ALMOST break something i have to go to bed, get under a blanked and go to sleep ... and by the time i wake up i will have internalized the lessons of my recklessness that ALMOST caused me to break something

i just wrote that i broke those things to make it easier for you to understand. nothing was actually broken.

but the fact was that i realized that:

1 - i was FORCED into being reckless by lacking the time to consider how the device works before using it

2 - once i almost broke it i once again didn't have the time to go through my usual protocol of going to bed and sleeping on it to reflect on the mistakes and internalize the lessons

i just saw that the time crunch was ruining me, so i checked out.

having had about an hour of two to decompress and reflect i think it was NOT the dopamine fast / digital detox that unbalanced me but the sheer crunch for time

think i will continue with a less aggressive form of detox but with a different rationale. instead of trying to make myself more productive by eliminating distractions i will try to achieve a greater sense of inner peace by eliminating distractions. and instead of trying to be more productive to meet a deadline i will simply accept that i work at some natural pace and it will take however long it takes.

of course Elon would tell you that you have to work as fast as possible but if his employee who is forced to work 100 hours a week burns out Elon will simply fire him and replace him with some H1B from India.

working faster and harder works in the short term, just like counting calories works in the short term.

in the long term you have to realign your priorities to something sustainable.

eliminate from your life as many distractions as possible - but not to the point where you stop being yourself or human.

you should also work as much and as fast / hard as possible but again - not to the point where you become a neurotic wreck or a crackhead like Elon.

sometimes you have to take the L and retreat, take a step back to regroup.
