I don’t know who the first person was to bring buckthorn to America and market it as a “decorative tree” to the suburbs that were being built in the 1950s and 60s, but I hate them.

This is the story behind so many invasive species and it kills me.
Oh I know one: go to any Home Depot and you can find Wisteria sinensis (Chinese Wisteria) on sale for $10. Plant it in your garden and it’ll tear your house down in less than a decade if not managed.
Never mind the fact that W. frutescens (American Wisteria) is native, non-invasive in the US, and also just as beautiful. We want that easy-growing shit, forget that it’ll choke everything within 50ft.
