The Ahimsa is "is the ancient Indian principle of nonviolence which applies to actions towards all living beings. It is a key virtue in Indian religions like Jainism, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Sikhism. Ahimsa's precept that humans should 'cause no injury' to another living being includes one's deeds, words, and thoughts." It is a non-violence precept. Perhaps one of the earliest ones.
For example, did you know that 42% of Hindus are vegetarian? That's 504 million people currently, by the way. And this is religion/belief/ideology that exists for thousands of years. Taken from the Wiki, at "least by 500BCE all major Indian religions were championing non-violence".
Just imagine, 2500 years ago there was already a group of people championing non-violence in all it's splendor to the point of being intentionally vegetarian. Just imagine that. Isn't that remarkable in itself? The Ahimsa they called it.
I don't know, it hit me with quite a lot of beauty. In a world with so much hate and conflict, it's good to discover inspiring non-violent/peaceful visions. For me religion is poetry, there's good and bad poetry. I like this kind of poetry.
I think the world needs non-violent principles more than ever. Non-violent, non-aggression, forgiveness poetry or ideas. I think that's the ideology that the world truly needs right now. Ideologies of forgiveness.
