The mall I grew up in, now destroyed due to online shopping.

Make third spaces great again.

Hanging out at the mall with my iPod and going to the arcade was legit the most fun

that mall was meant to enjoy it whilst being relaxed, walking with slow steps, being curious and secure to be distracted... the designed paths, —along the kosmo-kramer game of levels— suggest it... newer malls i've seen these days are composed with straight lines only; prefabricated; fluid hasty tours and with stands in the middle; more alike the usage of busy terminals...

thanks, Roya 🙏 .

it reminded me of perisur, at south of Mexico City; though current photos aren't alike those of the memory...

Is this Chesterfield Mall?

yes!

i wonder what they will become?

they’re turning this one into a fake suburban “downtown” it’s going to be a flop as the city is a majority of senior citizens

oh man. i could smell the inside of a retirement amusement park as you described it 🤮

Reminds of Woodfield mall just outside Chicago. I am sure a lot of these were built in 70’s and 80’s.
