What is the shape of lightning? Not as we usually see it, in all its jagged forking beauty, but in cross-section. Are those formations cylindrical? Hexagonal? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I would go with 3D random mandelbrot-like. The charges want to flow anywhere possible. Until they find a leader.

Had an interesting thunderclap about 40 hours ago. Massive noise. Shook house. No rain.

I guess it was cloud to cloud.
