Morels are popping up in my neck of the woods. If you’re in the southeast US, now may be a great time to go look around your hardwood forests. They grow in association with various trees including elm, ash, poplar, cherry, privet, and many more. They’re delicious and they’re also very challenging to see on the forest floor, which makes hunting them fun. If you don’t find any, there are still many cool and beautiful things to appreciate in the early spring woods..

I look forward to this. I'm about a month behind

Nobody in Czechia picks morels. I saw a bunch of them last year and only after I learned how good they are. I'll check that forest next week😍

I’ve gotten to hunt for mushrooms once in NM up in the mountains, and it was so much fun! I’d love to go hunting again.

Sending you morel dust 🪄🧚
