internet is not super reliable across africa, but USSD over cell has way more coverage. Something like 95% of people use it over apps for doing things like checking balance and money transfers.
Ah, so if we could just get one African telco on board, it could help nostr take off in Africa

you donโt need them to get onboard, you just use a service like https://africastalking.com to build and app for the ussd protocol.
That's surprising. Nostr could basically take over all text based internet functions for Africans over time I guess
