Oh ok, noncustom works fine the way you described, but if you add a caption I guess you have to save to phone and pull from there (kinda makes sense).

Yeah, had used that in past when adding text, discovered you could add text in tenor, did it once but with a save to phone first. Forgot to do that this time.
Someday I'll gif better :(
