I thought Kenny vs Gabe Kidd at WK this year was really good.
I haven’t been paying too much attention cause it seems like every promotion is in a rebuilding phase.
I really liked naito for the majority of his run between 2016-2019.
The g1 always has some banger matches.
As much as I thought AEW was going to help the American wrestling landscape it’s really hurt Japan. Mainly new Japan. As much as I’m sure NOAH and DDT have good wrestling the cinematography in NJPW unmatched.
Definitely watch the Kenny Omega v Kazuchica Okada quadrilogy. That’s some flair steamboat type storytelling.
Okada v tanahashi matches are another good place to start for more modern NJPW.
