Been getting gas for less than $3/gal plus another 10 percent back in Bitcoin.

Fiat clown world forces me to play games to minimize the damage of the debasement on my purchasing power. I sacrifice some financial privacy for cheaper fuel, it's a worth while trade off to me.

Sometimes I feel like the main character in Punch Drunk Love, Barry, trying to game the rules on the frequent flyer miles food promotion. I think it's one of Paul Thomas Anderson's best movies.

By reading the fine print, I know that I can get the discount up to 30 gallons so I bring some 5 gallon gas cans to fill after my car is topped off.

What's the trick?

The big box grocery store offers gas coupons for spending money at the store and then the credit card I use to pay for the gas offers 10 percent back in Bitcoin on up to $250/mo.

That's pretty fair game to me.

I keep cash/bitcoin for small businesses who would prefer it. Otherwise, loading up the 0%apr cards up to the max (unless it's some specifically privacy conscious purchase)

But it is indeed pretty stupid to be forced to play these games. Just the amount of human capital wasted on constantly adjusting and studying the small prints.

I'm basically selling my purchasing habits and patterns for a discount on gas.

Who is this through? I do the gift cards at Kroger for 4x gas points. Which gives me $1 off per gallon, and o get all 35 gallons allowed. Buy the gift card with a 3% back credit card. Buy the gas with a 5% back credit card. Pay all of the credit cards with Fold card through PayPal bill pay, rewards have gotten pretty crappy with that though.

I really don't enjoy having to play those games but this is how we can get closer to the money printer.

How are you getting 10% back? I’m using the Fold Card to get 1% back plus a spin. How else are you getting money back?
