The mic isn't good enough, by far.

It should be insanely great studio quality mic.

I fear that's not possible. 44.1khz/16bit(cd quality) for stereo out and mono in required over 2.1mbps bandwidth. Best bluetooth codecs nowadays can achieve an absolute maximum of 1.2mbps over very short distances.

You should check new Sennheiser wireless systems. https://www.sennheiser.com/en-de/catalog/products/wireless-systems/profile-wireless-2-channel-set/profile-wireless-2-channel-set-700266

I'd be fine with a usb-c receiver plugged into the phone.

The important thing I'm missing with existing solutions like sennheiser is that there's no two way audio support needed for calls.

Oh, you are right; only the receiver has the monitor out. Yeah, I guess that you are moving into a live performance gear realm than. Not cheap, and not simple.

Does that gear work with android?

No, I don't think so. You need a base station that costs 8-10k.

That's a shame, I'm looking for a compact tool good for walk and talks in the forest.

In that case I think this one would actually work for you. https://www.sennheiser.com/en-de/catalog/products/wireless-systems/profile-wireless-2-channel-set/profile-wireless-2-channel-set-700266

You can connect receiver to the phone, and IEMs to the receiver.

How does the call audio output get to the headphones?

You have a mic out on the receiver. So you need wired IEMs.

That mic out only plays the recorded sound, right?

I need something for calls, so the audio should be sourced from the phone and play in the earbuds.

I don't know. Initially, I thought, why wouldn't it? I guess it makes sense not to, as this is intended for behind-the-camera monitoring. Still, you can use some of these wireless mics and bluetooth IEM together. What's the issue there? These receivers have an internal battery, so it will not put extra battery drain on the phone.

Android cannot split incoming mic from outgoing audio, so using such a plug in mic with Bluetooth headset isn't possible.

Oh, I see. Check this out. https://moondroplab.com/en/products/voyager

Moondrop makes superb IEMs, can't imagine their mics not being superb as well.

Interesting, Thanks!

I'm not a big fan of the neckband style though.
