God absolutely requires people to worship and obey, not because God needs it, but because that is the fulfillment of the purpose for our creation. Worshipping or obeying anyone or anything else is the root of all that ills us.

The only law which exists is the karma: everything good or bad you do to others returns to you. Anything besides that are systems made to manipulate fools

And which law or commandments besides the maxim "treat others as you would like others to treat you" do you think we must obey?

I'll go with the summary of the law given by Jesus:

Love God, love others.

You're pretty much negating the first part of that. I don't think that's wise.

This maxim is older than Jesus and it's universal (not exclusive to any religion or philosophical system)

Well, yes. I'm aware of that. I still don't see why that preclude belief in God or Jesus and the biblically outlined purpose for all of creation and for us humans.
