Know of a pedophile that got absolutely fucked over by being open with a therapist. Everyone always told him to go to therapy. From my experience, it's usually either that or "kill yourself."

He never molested anyone, and he never consumed CSAM, but unfortunately for him: 1. In practice, pedophiles are not granted the same rights to patient confidentiality as many others. 2. He lived in the nightmare police state that is the UK. And 3. He did not realize that muh 1000 year old vampire drawing is illegal in the UK.

What happened is this: the moment he told the therapist he was a pedophile, the therapist decided that was enough justification and immediately called the police on him. They seized all his electronics, found the loli porn, charged him with molesting all those poor virtual children, and sentenced him to years of check-ins and house arrest.

The worst part is that he never did get to experience any actual therapy. The second worst part is that he couldn't visit our shitposting forum anymore due to fears about getting into even more trouble from interacting with alt-right shitposters or something idk.

My takeaway from that story is this: if you want your rights to be respected, there is nobody you can trust besides yourself.
