The bluesky ppl are obviously interested in algorithms (censorship) and monetisation. It’s basically the fediverse which is super broken.

It’s much worse than the Fediverse, actually. Did you see the chart they released? The actual transmission of content is completely centralized.

I didn’t see this. Why is BS continue promote itself as decentralized???? Baffling

For future profitability. They’re too late though, a lot of twitter ppl already moved to fedi and they’ll prefer it because it’s so easy to censor ppl.

It’s almost like each group needs their own app. If they only wanna hear the things they themselves think, then I guess… yaaaa centralized is way to go. 🤔

Sure I have my opinions, we all do, but I need opposite opinions to surround me to challenge my own thoughts & make me grow. Often I change my mind on topics once I’ve heard better arguments! It’s rather boring & stale world sitting in your own 💩constantly!

This. Marketing buzz. Definitely a psyop.

No, post it.

This why I don’t understand why Jack is still on board of Bluesky.. it doesn’t seem like it’s going direction of decentralization

One thing I'll say in defense of algorithms is the "who to follow" algorithm on twitter is really good for finding ppl who you want to talk to. If there was some way to make that for nostr but unbiased/client hosted/decentralized I think that would actually give nostr an edge over the fedi in a significant way.

#[5] is this possibility w Nostr?

"The people you follow liked/ zapped/ renoted the notes of these people the most"

That’d be good actually, but I also find new follows through connections I make organically. Maybe an AI thing that analyses that and the global feed?

Yeah, you could also find people by looking at who also follows the people you follow, and then of those people look at who they follow that you don't already.

I think it's possible with what already exists in nostr, but might require a lot of processing power.

I guess that’s part of the “decentralised” bit.

Yeah, everything in computers is way more efficient when you can have 1 central authority managing the calculation of things then storing the results vs a bunch of individuals doing it themselves.

On the other hand decentralization prevents someone from secretly censoring or altering things.
