It’s usually obvious, but generally it’s when an entire group of people with specific ethnic traits are labeled as stupid, evil, violent, or subhuman.
This is probably a better definition for “racial animus” or “race hatred”

"Racism" is a political slang for something perfectly reasonable and fine: a preference for your own family, your own faith, your own people, your own country, and a logical and reasonable suspicion for outsiders.
