One thing I love about nostr is that there isn't a native algo picking and choosing notes to display. This shifts a user's intent by rewarding those who nostr for their own enrichment and effectively penalizes those who are here to try and influence using legacy tactics.
Legacy social media is basically a show and everyones an actor with no real human audience. The actual audience in legacy sm is the algo. You post stuff, but only to game the algos to extend your reach. Show off to the other actors in hopes that they'll care. You're like an acolyte sacrificing your authenticity to appease the algo gods. People can see through this but the reward bestowed by the algos far outweigh the humanity lost.
On nostr, you curate your own feed. No one else sees this but you. What you do here is done for YOU. You are both the god and the acolyte, shaping your domain. In fact, it becomes blatantly obvious once you're on here long enough, who are the authentic ones and who's showing off to get attention. Nostr naturally penalized this type of shitty influencer behavior as there is no algo to reward it.
If you're here to build an influencer brand, kindly fuck off back to cuckworld and get back on your knees to beg forgiveness from the algo ruling whatever dystopian platform you came from.
If you're here to connect with other humans, welcome to a better tomorrow. Follow people and interact with real humans. Stop worrying about optimising or gaming the system. Just be yourself, be a decent person, come out from the shadows and you'll find this place to be truly freeing.
