im realizing the plan9 operating system is not just a fringe hobby for nerds. it was/is research into entirely different ways of interacting with a computer, how networking works, and what the internet is.

i kinda missed that the first time around. seeing it more now. also seeing the latent centralized mainframe computer mindset in the current internet paradigm. and how the same team that built unix, built plan9 trying to shed those paradigms.
