I'm sure this has nothing to do with DeSantis' biggest donor expressing concern that DeSantis' views are too extreme to get support from moderates or the recent comment about splitting throats of federal employees.

As in, they agreed to not press the matter for now, in the face of loud, visible opposition, only to ram it through in the Fall when COVID surges will serve as a distraction?
