Apparently, we had a large scale grid outage around here yesterday.

I don’t notice these things, so i have to learn about them from others.

There was also a massive uptick in Doordash orders for people who cant cook when the power is off.

My wife observed it all, sparking a conversation about what to do in the event of a major sustained outage. The conversation which followed was interesting, and contained the phrase “thin veil of civilization”.

We are formulating a plan to follow in the event…

People say get a gun... I heard a good story from a Venezuelan that went through some shit and he said get a cross-bow. You don't want to notify the neighbors when you take the shot and the arrows are usually reusable.

This is the way, more sovereign in all things.

We routinely have power outages and due to accessibility of infrastructure have been without power for 4-5 days at a time.

So we have at least 10 days of backup power, water, fuel, gas and food at all times.

necessity s the mother of invention....

We don't usually lose power for very long, maybe 3-4 hrs. Because of the uncertain times, that could change at any moment. I picked up a dual fuel generator and a 800w solar system, which I still need to install. I live in my 27 ft. travel trailer, I will have plenty of power. Of course there will be other things to consider, defense......etc.

How is it that you didn't notice a wide scale grid outage?

Are you off grid? I mean, you're posting on nostr, so I presume you have some supply of power.

Poop, I did that in the wrong order. Next time I'll look at the profile BEFORE I post a note. 🤦‍♂️
